Game Rules
Before the game:
All players must submit 3 story titles via the rsvp page, either 2 truths and a lie or 2 lies and a truth! For example: “I was once on INTERPOLS Missing Persons List” or “I once accidently sent a picture of my big toe to all my work colleagues”...the stranger your tale the better. You can play as a couple, so the story shared can be defended together.
On game night:
Players will take turns to sit in the hotseat! The player/couple in the hotseat will read out their story title and get ready to defend your story. You will not know which story you will be defending until your turn. The other players will be given no more than 5 minutes to ask you questions and try to get to the bottom of your story. At the end of the allotted time, all other players will vote by holding up the truth/lie card provided. The host will then ask the players in the hotseat to reveal whether the story is a truth or lie.
Scoring Points:
The player in the hotseat scores 1 point for every player who incorrectly guesses the truth of their story. Players not in the hotseat, score 1 point for each correct guess.
Total Wipe Out Events:
In the event that the player in the hotseat manages to fool everyone as to the truth of their story, then the player in the hotseat gets a bonus point. Likewise, if all players correctly guess the truth of the story then all but the player in the hotseat gets a bonus point.
REMEMBER:
Please submit your stories at least 1 hour before the game start time. When submitting your story titles, please keep your stories Certificate PG, as it will be played before the watershed!
